Collection of Images669 exhibits

The Collection of Images at the Film Museum dates back to 1986. The key mission of the Collection is to collect and preserve various creative materials of production designers, including art directors, costume designers, special effects technicians, makeup designers or property masters.

As of the beginning of 2011, the Collection has almost 11,000 basic items and 2,500 scientific and auxiliary items created by 297 authors. These include designs to more than 1,000 films.

The Collection of Images is so large that all major milestones in the history of the Russian cinema (alas, except for the period before the Russian Revolution of 1917) are represented by visual materials.
